Long weekend vacation

Hello everyone! I'm back!

My update for today is not about cosmetics but also my life outside the cosmetics world.

I'm out of the city with my family and relatives spending the night away from the reality but just relaxing near the beach. Do you know how great out spot are? Well, it's not really the greatest but at least it is an overview spot house. It is a nice 3-room house and there's like 8 of us lived in that house.

Down below is the outside view whenever I come out of the house.

After some time, me, my bro and cousin went out to find a spot to play sport and we come across this place with this kind of view:

Can you see that blue colour at the very back aside from the sky? Well, that's the beach. Pretty isn't it?

I always admire places like this. Simple yet so precious to look at. I'm a bit of a nature lover, just don't make me walk and walk and walk coz I seriously hate lots of walking. I used to love hiking though but after I moved overseas I just didn't find the interest anymore.

Now the boys are packing. We're heading back to the house. It's getting too hot for me.

Anyways, enjoy your long weekend vacation too as long as you still have it. Spend time with your family, friends and relatives.

Have a good one guys. I'm logging off now. Bye for now.

Revlon ColorStay Oil-Free Foundation

I'm back again with another update. I'll be reviewing "Revlon ColorStay Oil-Free Foundation #200 Nude". I chose this foundation because it's an oil-free foundation. If any of you have read my AC Clinic review, I've mentioned there that before I didn't care about my skin but after I've learned my lesson I have been more aware  and careful on what skin care and make-up I use.

Revlon ColorStay foundation is again an oil-free foundation. I have tried the other Revlon ColorStay, the one for normal and dry skin but after a few months of using it I saw that the foundation does stay long on my skin but it gets too oily like pig oily, it mixes to my oily skin which is not good. It's a very thick foundation. Really heavy on your face and not too breathable on your skin due to its thickness. So, I stopped using Revlon for a year but here I am again eager to use it and even making a review of it.

This is how it looks like:

The other Revlon ColorStay for normal/dry skin has a different lid, it's I think glass. I'm not so sure how to describe it, I'm not really good at describing. So yeah, that's the difference between them two.
--> Revlon ColorStay for normal/dry skin - glass lid
--> Revlon ColorStay for combination/oily skin - full black lid

The coverage that I bought is #200 Nude. I usually buy the Ivory coverage coz it's lighter than Nude and it has a pinkish accent when its been settled on your skin. This Nude coverage however is light but doesn't have any pinkish accent, it's just plain pale white color once it settles on the skin.

I just bought it last week so I haven't really used this much coz I haven't been out yet but if I'll be using this I would definitely put sunscreen on since this only has SPF6 which is too little for a sun protection.

The thing that I don't like about Revlon ColorStay is that the head of the bottle has a big hole in it which I don't recommend for busy situation.

The texture of the foundation isn't as runny as the normal/dry foundation but you have to be careful in tilting/pouring the foundation onto your skin coz you might not be able to know that you've put heaps already since the head of the bottle is too big. I just hope that someday they'll change it like the Revlon PhotoReady's bottle's head.

The foundation actually has a smell but for me its a good smell. It's not strong and when you apply it on your face you wouldn't notice the smell lingering anywhere the foundation.

As you can see on the foundation's coverage and my skin tone they're both pretty different. The Nude is a bit lighter than my skin tone but once it settles on the skin you'll see that it is not really as light but it is just actually right for my skin tone.

Here:

Can you see the difference? I was really trying to capture it clearly. On the left side is my skin without the foundation and on the right side has the foundation on it. As you can see, the foundation made my skin more fair and it even covered my colored vein. It looks matte and pale fair.

When I put it on my face it goes lighter than that coz I apply primer first before applying the foundation just to cover my acne's and when I have it on my face I look really pale like pale white and it's not oily, it looks matte on my face so the paleness looks even more obvious. I don't really mind coz I like looking pale white but not that dead type. (keke)

Revlon ColorStay Oil-free Foundation is suitable for people who has oily and sensitive skin and to those who are prone to breakouts. Know the make-up and skin care that is suitable for your skin so you wouldn't get breakouts like me.

By the way, I bought this for AUD24.69 at PriceLine. It was on sale and I was really glad otherwise I won't be buying it coz the original price is AUD34+ and I'm the person who doesn't like to spend that much money for a make-up when I can use it for important stuff. keke

I'll give this foundation 8/10. Try it! It's handy and heavy but just be careful with the lid when you open it, that's all.

This foundation has I think 5 coverage so yeah, you've got lots to choose from.

Comments and questions are always welcome.

ETUDE HOUSE: AC Clinic Intense Trial Kit

Hello everyone!

Apparently, this is my first time writing a blog about cosmetics. I only make a blog for random stuff that comes out of my mind but after few weeks of reading other blogs on cosmetics I've decided to give it a try too. Please be patient with me since writing is not actually my thing.

My review for today is about as you've seen from the title "AC Clinic Intense Trial Kit". I've never tried Etude House before but from all the continuous response about how good E.H (Etude House) is, I thought of giving this brand a try.

I'll give you a bit of information why I decided on giving this brand a try. 2 years ago I've seen in one of the shops here in Australia selling Korean brand cosmetics (skin care, make-up, nail kits, hair kits) and it's actually Tony Moly. I'm not a fan of Korean cosmetics since I don't know a single thing about any of their products but when I saw Kim Hyun Joong's (SS501) poster posted as the endorser of the product I became interested (to his poster, haha!) and I would always visit that shop every time I go to the city. It's like THE best shop I could go to when there are actually lots of other "interesting" shops to roam to. Okay, the shop I'm talking about is "Morning glory" it's a Korean shop that sells Korean goodies but nowadays they are also selling K-Pop CDs which is AWESOME! (keke!)

Alright, back to the topic! I've tried Tony Moly's Tomatox Brightening Foam Cleanser and the Tomatox Cream. I forgot the name of the cream but yeah it's still a Tomatox cream. After using the whole bottle of the cleanser and went back to the shop to buy a new one, they actually told me that "we don't have it anymore", "we don't have any stocks of those anymore". OUCH! That was my first reaction! I really liked the cleanser but I have no choice but to buy a different one. I like brightening products though I'm already fair but not as fair as the K-celebs-kinda-pale (you know!?). So, I've been roaming around the mall looking for the same product coz Morning Glory has 3 shops around the city itself (I guess?) and so I went there and asked for it but I got the same answer. So, I got frustrated.

I've seen TheFaceShop whenever I roam around the city but I never figured out that it IS a Korean brand of cosmetics not until I saw Hyun Joong's (SS501) poster being posted there as their product endorser (which is weird) coz I saw 1 for Tony Moly's and now TheFaceShop. Anyways, SHOOT! There's the solution! Ha! I went there and asked for some brightening cleansers that are good for oily skin. She gave me options but because I'm more interested in Brightening than getting rid of my oily skin I opt to the Brightening product (which I forgot the name coz I threw it away already last year). Oh yeah, I do have oily skin, well, mostly on my T-zone but my cheeks are normal or sometimes it gets dry, depends on the mood of my complicated skin and also, my skin is sensitive. I'm not really the one who cares about my skin but ever since I've got eyes on K-pop it pops my interest. So, yeah, I bought that brightening product plus another one, I think it's "E'thym". I actually bought the set, like, Toner-Moisturizer and I paired it with the Brightening cleanser, great! After a few months, my skin was able to cope up with the new product and so I checked out about a BB cream that is good for summer seasons. I bought the Missha product. After a few weeks of using the said products, I started getting pimples which I REALLY HATE THE MOST (sorry, got carried away -.-") and up until now it's getting heaps and heaps and heaps and I have no idea how to get rid of it.

I stopped using TheFaceShop and Missha and went back to Tomatox coz I went there again and saw the product. So, I bought 2 of it just in case they won't sell it again (huhu) and then I bought the all-in-1 toner on Ebay. It actually didn't help at all. It kept on coming and coming until I've got heaps of breakouts. So, that's how I got into Etude House!

I saw this AC Clinic while surfing every K-cosmetics on Ebay and got interested in it. I've seen the reviews and how it is supposed to use. I've seen everything. So, I've decided to buy the AC Clinic Trial Kit to try it and well, not just the AC Clinic I'm buying. I'll be collecting more E.H that is now compatible to my skin type. I'm becoming aware of it nowadays so I'm being careful. (Yeah, I learned my lesson now :'()

So, here it is the AC Clinic Intense Trial Kit. I bought it on Ebay since I haven't seen any Korean shops here in Australia that sells Etude House other than TheFaceShop and Tony Moly.

I bought it for AUD22.91 which is I think a bit expensive but if this product is really effective then the price is understandable. Here's the link

I ordered the product just this month on Sept. 13, 2012 and I received it on Sept. 20, 2012 which is kind of fast than the usual. The dealer is really nice too! Anyway, this kit consists of:
--> Cleanser
--> Toner
--> Gel Lotion
--> Pink Powder Spot
--> Pink Powder Water
--> 10pcs cotton swab

Etude's so thoughtful for including free swabs you know. The kit is packed in a plastic case where you can use it for travel purposes which are really helpful. Though I don't really travel that much but I can assure though who travels a lot this would be a very useful kit for you guys.

In case you wonder why there is a "31 Jan 2013" in there, I actually asked the dealer to put the expiration date in there so I would know. She told me that once you open the product a year after that is the expiry date but she suggested that I use the product in a span of 6 months rather than using it for the whole year which I think is a good idea since you don't really want to have negative reactions on a product for using it for the whole year but hey, people are different and their skin is different so it's all up to you. ^_^

I don't really have much to say about the product since I've just used it for the whole night yet but I'll help you out in details on how to use each product.

Let's see...

Below is the AC Clinic Daily Acne Foam Cleanser 30ml. When I first open the kit I smelt the herbal type of medicine smell. I can't describe well but that was my first reaction. It doesn't really foam much for me and doesn't really take off all the make-up that I put on my face that's why I have to use a cleansing wipe before I cleanse my face with this. It's a bit refreshing but not as how refreshing I felt when I was using the Tomatox foam cleanser.

How to use:

Release proper amount and work it up into a rich lather with lukewarm water. Massage lather onto face and wash off with lukewarm water.

Simple as that eii?

Next one is AC Clinic Daily Toner 25ml. I actually love the smell of the toner rather than the cleanser. It's not as thick as I thought it would be but it is refreshing and the smell would just go by after a few seconds of applying it so it is not really a big deal. But as you've seen for a whole day I think I've used a lot. I just like it, so what can I say? Hmm?

How to use:

Apply on the face after cleansing and gently pat for absorption.

Next one is the AC Clinic Gel Lotion 25ml. This, I love the smell of this one the most! I don't know why but I really like the herbal-medicine-kinda-smell. I just like it. I can smell this one for the whole day but I can't do that coz people might think I'm crazy smelling this. Haha! The lotion is a bit watery but I think it's alright. The problem is I can't get the thing out of the bottle; I have to take it out side-ways so it would release the amount of lotion I want. Just a small amount of lotion and it's enough for my whole face. It's not oily and it doesn't get my face oily. Well I think it's obvious since the product is I think an Oil-free product. But after 30 minutes my face gets dry. The lotion doesn't last that longer to moisturize your face.

How to use:

After skin toner, apply proper amount onto the face.

Here goes the product that I don't feel like using.

Next one is the AC Clinic Intense Powder Pink Water 5ml. Do you know that the bottle is SOOO Tiny! Like tiny-tiny. It's so cute, I admire it. Hehe. It comes with a white power for me. It's not really a pink powder but a white powder. i don't know why it's called pink powder but maybe the ingredient that comes with it makes it pink powder. Anyways, i use this product in the morning and I don't totally like the looks of it, why? Because the white spot sticks to my skin and I have to rub it off instead of just making circle motions for it to scatter. It even looks like a concealer in a different colour. It looks embarrassing. I have to cover it up with a primer and foundation just to not make the white colour obvious though I was really not planning on putting on make-up when I apply any of the AC Clinic coz I just want to make the effectiveness of the product even faster.

The product anyhow doesn't affect me at all. No after effects, it's just like a white thing on my face, that's all. It doesn't sting or anything. I don't feel anything. Well, there is one, hehe, when I put it on my face, its cold. Maybe because of the weather or the product itself, I don't know but other than that there's nothing else. By the way, I use this in the morning only and instead of using my finger, I use the cotton swab (it's more hygienic).

How to use:

SHAKE THE BOTTLE WELL and apply proper amount on troubled spots and acne with clean finger and pat to absorb (available after make-up).

The final one is AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Spot 5ml. The bottle of this product is the same with the Pink Powder Water. They're both tiny, cutie. It has a smell, more like a not-so-strong kinda nail remover smell. It's not strong and I don't have any problem with its smell coz when I put it on my face I don't smell it but if I stick my nose into the opening of the bottle then there I would smell the smell. Hehe. I have put it on me last night (Sept. 21, 2012) and I look so funny! Even my mom was laughing at me when she saw my face full of pink spots. I look hilarious and since I've got lots of blemishes here and there around my face i really look a total crazy person with those pink spots around my face. I'm covered with it and I really think it's funny. It would have been fun to share my picture with you but I'm kinda not ready to show my face full of blemishes so no thanks. Sorry.

Anyways, when I apply the product on my face I would use the tip swab not the cotton buds like swab but the other end of the swab. It's much easier to put it on using the tip swab since I would just apply it like dots on my acne.

It easily dries out actually once you apply it so if you want to circle it around the blemished area make sure to do it right away, don't wait for couple more seconds to do it because it would dry up quickly. It's a powder with a water yes that's why it dries up quickly. It stings for a few seconds upon applying it and then after few minutes it'd feel itchy. I feel like scratching it but I can't. I think it's the after effect, maybe the product did work on my acne so it's good! I use this on the evening since I have to leave it on for the whole night and yes, I've slept with it on my face. In the morning it's still there as if I've just applied it. Well, I don't know coz I don't really move around when I sleep. I washed it off in the morning with warm water and it's so hard to take it off. It would stick to my face like a white powder and my face looks like ghost white. The newly grown acne subsided which is good and it really helped in stopping my acne from growing. So yeah, I'm going to use it again tonight. Another weird night for my face, AGAIN! Hay!

How to use:

DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE. After facial cleansing, dip clean swab into bottom of the bottle and draw powder from bottle. Use swab to dab troubled spot and acne with swab to coat with pink powder.

So, there you go. That's my review on this product. I'm going to continue using this for the whole 4 weeks I guess or until the entire product is gone. My upcoming order which is Etude House's BE CLEAR set: Cleanser - Toner - Moisturizer. Once my 4 weeks is over I will start using Be Clear and my other set of upcoming Etude products.

If you have questions about the AC Clinic don't hesitate to post a comment below. I'm welcome to answer all questions I can answer. I may be a rookie to these stuff but I assure you that I don't neglect my viewers (if there's any).

Since I've just used the product for a day I won't be giving any rates for it coz it would be unfair but after using it maybe I'll buy some more if I get another groupie of acne's.

Hope I've helped you with anything. If I missed out something you can just comment me below.

Thanks for viewing and have a good day ahead. ^_^
