I'm back again with another update. I'll be reviewing "Revlon ColorStay Oil-Free Foundation #200 Nude". I chose this foundation because it's an oil-free foundation. If any of you have read my AC Clinic review, I've mentioned there that before I didn't care about my skin but after I've learned my lesson I have been more aware and careful on what skin care and make-up I use.
Revlon ColorStay foundation is again an oil-free foundation. I have tried the other Revlon ColorStay, the one for normal and dry skin but after a few months of using it I saw that the foundation does stay long on my skin but it gets too oily like pig oily, it mixes to my oily skin which is not good. It's a very thick foundation. Really heavy on your face and not too breathable on your skin due to its thickness. So, I stopped using Revlon for a year but here I am again eager to use it and even making a review of it.
This is how it looks like:
The other Revlon ColorStay for normal/dry skin has a different lid, it's I think glass. I'm not so sure how to describe it, I'm not really good at describing. So yeah, that's the difference between them two.
--> Revlon ColorStay for normal/dry skin - glass lid
--> Revlon ColorStay for combination/oily skin - full black lid
The coverage that I bought is #200 Nude. I usually buy the Ivory coverage coz it's lighter than Nude and it has a pinkish accent when its been settled on your skin. This Nude coverage however is light but doesn't have any pinkish accent, it's just plain pale white color once it settles on the skin.
I just bought it last week so I haven't really used this much coz I haven't been out yet but if I'll be using this I would definitely put sunscreen on since this only has SPF6 which is too little for a sun protection.
The thing that I don't like about Revlon ColorStay is that the head of the bottle has a big hole in it which I don't recommend for busy situation.
The texture of the foundation isn't as runny as the normal/dry foundation but you have to be careful in tilting/pouring the foundation onto your skin coz you might not be able to know that you've put heaps already since the head of the bottle is too big. I just hope that someday they'll change it like the Revlon PhotoReady's bottle's head.
The foundation actually has a smell but for me its a good smell. It's not strong and when you apply it on your face you wouldn't notice the smell lingering anywhere the foundation.
As you can see on the foundation's coverage and my skin tone they're both pretty different. The Nude is a bit lighter than my skin tone but once it settles on the skin you'll see that it is not really as light but it is just actually right for my skin tone.
Here:
Can you see the difference? I was really trying to capture it clearly. On the left side is my skin without the foundation and on the right side has the foundation on it. As you can see, the foundation made my skin more fair and it even covered my colored vein. It looks matte and pale fair.
When I put it on my face it goes lighter than that coz I apply primer first before applying the foundation just to cover my acne's and when I have it on my face I look really pale like pale white and it's not oily, it looks matte on my face so the paleness looks even more obvious. I don't really mind coz I like looking pale white but not that dead type. (keke)
Revlon ColorStay Oil-free Foundation is suitable for people who has oily and sensitive skin and to those who are prone to breakouts. Know the make-up and skin care that is suitable for your skin so you wouldn't get breakouts like me.
By the way, I bought this for AUD24.69 at PriceLine. It was on sale and I was really glad otherwise I won't be buying it coz the original price is AUD34+ and I'm the person who doesn't like to spend that much money for a make-up when I can use it for important stuff. keke
I'll give this foundation 8/10. Try it! It's handy and heavy but just be careful with the lid when you open it, that's all.
This foundation has I think 5 coverage so yeah, you've got lots to choose from.
Comments and questions are always welcome.
